Voilà une suite pour Bleeding Feather. ^^
Je la poste ici, et merci de signaler les fautes : je ne suis pas très bon en anglais...^^
Et si vous voulez proposer un titre... Allez-y ^^
“Who cares? Who cares, now that everyone is dead?”
“Everyone's not dead. We're not”
“Yes, but you know what I mean… No one lives around here anymore. They’ve all moved to an even bigger city, or died. Why couldn’t I take that feather?”
“Because… It is not natural… This colour…”
“Oh please Grandpa! It looks so beautiful! Why can’t I have it?”
“Your mother wouldn’t have wanted you to.” He said firmly.
It always worked. The boy would then say: “All right…” with a sigh, and then…
“But why wouldn’t she have wanted that? I will take it unless you come up with a good reason!”
Aaahhh…… He was growing up, this little one… Well, he himself didn’t know why one shouldn’t touch this feather, but he had a bad feeling about it…
Dethiseus tried as hard as he could to make the boy’s grandfather accept, but unfortunately, he had been touched by a Healer before, and thus was more immune yet also far more sensitive than most humans…
That at least was a good thing too, because otherwise he would never have been able to manipulate his grandson into seeing the feather on the ground. Maybe he should just give up for now and let the boy try to convince his relative… After all, humans were still the best at convincing other humans…
“Have I ever given you a wrong advice before?”
“Yes you have! Three times you told me to do something and I nearly died from it!”
“I keep wondering why you think I was wrong these times. You just didn’t listen till I completed my sentences! I wasn’t telling you to eat that berry, nor was I telling you…”
“But you didn’t tell me not to!”
“No, I was telling you to wait before you… No wait!”
Too late. William had already taken the feather and put it in his pocket.
Dethiseus went away. He knew the boy would be shielded from the powers of his kin the moment he touched the feather. The old man would look after him, no, they would look after each other. They wouldn’t fear Leanan or Reapers, and the man was used to living from what nature provided. Of course they would be in trouble if they met people, but he was confident it wouldn’t happen. No, the family he was in charge of would be fine without him. And he needed to see someone.

The Wanderer kept walking, kept looking for her lost love. She had already explored this continent, and was now heading towards the ocean, planning to embark on a ship going to the next one.
“Wanderer! Wait!”
She didn’t even stop to look at whoever was calling her.
“I know something about where he may be!”
She slightly slowed down…
“Who?”
“Merael…”
“What do you know?” She looked back at…a Healer.
“I know that a friend of mine, a Guardian…”
The Wanderer looked stunned.
“Of course! Don’t think you were the only Angels seeing each other in secret. Many of us do that, but we hide ourselves well… Only a few, like me and this friend of mine, are only that: friends. But you were the ones with enough courage, or passion, to try asking the Elders for freedom. I must say I have been surprised by Reehvea…”
From the look on her face, the Healer saw that she was absolutely not interested in what he had to say about Reehvea.
“Erm…Anyway…My friend Dethiseus told me that he couldn’t take the risk of coming see you by himself since you’re being watched, so he asked me to tell you that a child of the family under his responsibility picked your feather up and he will lead you to the Vine Cave where Merael is hidden. I’ve got to go now. Good luck!”
“The Vine Cave…My feather...…”
~~~
“Grandpa? I’m feeling bad about that place…”
“Poor William… You know pretty well I’m not feeling good either.”
“Then why do we have to go in here? Can’t we just go back to the old city?”
“We would be in trouble if we did. Humans have come, and they don’t appear to be well-disposed towards other people.”
“But why going there? We could go anywhere else…”
Dethiseus now needed a way to make this small family go to the Vine Cave. Now that the boy was completely out of reach, he had to work only on the grandfather – and on the dangers around them. If he could get William to think there may be something fascinating in the area…
As usual, William’s grandfather got him to go where he didn’t want to. In the evening…
“Can you tell me a tale? Please?”
“I… I can’t remember a lot of them, you know…”
“Come on, I know you can think of a hundred tales in no time! I love your tales! Especially the ones with the Feÿs…”
That was it! The Guardian had found the way to get the little one want to go to this secret cave only his grandfather knew – because he had shown him the way a long time ago, when he hadn’t been touched by the Healer who later became his closer friend…
“Ok, I will tell you a tale about this place we are going to. Legend has it that a long long time ago, a Feÿ named Yrwin lived in a cave of the region, but no one had ever been able to find it…”
This night, the boy named William didn’t sleep. He dreamt while looking at a starlit sky, he dreamt of a Feÿ, of fierce knights and magic, he dreamt…
And his dreams awoke something. Deep in the forest, a hidden trace of ancient magic resonated with this believing heart, and a woman appeared out of nowhere, sitting on a tree…
“Yrwin…”
As a gentle blow of wind, a whispered secret, a name ran in the forest.
“The Vine Cave…is mine…”
~~~
The Wanderer easily found resonance with her feather, and began to follow it, coming closer and closer to the little boy who had taken it, and then…
Yrwin was a solitary Feÿ, who lived of darkness and silence… She didn’t know what had brought her back, but she remembered the Angels who took her cave, so many years ago… Without even noticing her presence, they chose to set down here, and they were so noisy… She was too weak at the time, but now, coming directly from the Old Land, she was powerful again… This cave was hers to begin with, and she would take it back!! Eyes closed, she began to sing…
She couldn’t feel it anymore! It was as though the feather had vanished in the air!! Panicked, she looked desperately for this William and his grandfather…
Dethiseus felt the power leave… His chest hurt so much he couldn’t help crying, and when he looked, it was pulsating light, a light which had the shape of a feather.
Merael felt the spells around him weaken then disappear. His own power was gone too, but it didn’t matter, nor did matter the excruciating pain in his chest. Only mattered the absence of the protections that had so long prevented him from escaping. He began to crawl towards the entrance of the cave…
William felt the feather vibrate in his pocket. He put it out and noticed that its colour had changed from metallic silver to a nearly transparent grey.
“Grandpa! Grandpa! Look, a spell of the Feÿs! The feather, it…”
“Come on, kid. There’s no such things as Feÿs, it was just a tal… Oh no…”
The grandfather noticed the feather while it began to emit light. He then remembered all his experiences with the Angels. So did William, but he was too young…
“We’d better go somewhere else. Quick!”
“But, grandpa, the Cave is just there, look!”
He looked at what his grandson showed him.
Merael arrived at the opening of the Cave, and slowly got up…
The Wanderer saw the Cave.
“Merael!”
He looked at her.
“Ceyn…”
Yrwin emerged from the woods, and saw a Guardian standing up in the entrance of her cave. She went to him and took his feather calmly before entering the Cave.
“No! Merael!”
Ceyn ran towards him, to support him, to help him…
The pain was gone. Dethiseus had the power again, but it was so weak… He had to go to the cave, though. He began to run…
“The Feÿs…They’re back…Come William, let’s go away from here.”
“But these people… Can’t we help them?”
The old man thought about his experiences with such people.
“No, boy. They’re Angels, they will be ok.”
They left without turning back.
